To make your orchid bloom again and maintain blooming throughout the year, you can follow these steps using a homemade fertilizer:
Ingredients:
- Skin of one apple
- A small leaf of aloe vera
- 1 liter of boiling water
Instructions:
- Prepare the Fertilizer: Place the skin of one apple and a small leaf of aloe vera (both outside and inside) in a jar. Pour 1 liter of boiling water into the jar.
- Fermentation: Cover the jar with plastic wrap and let it ferment naturally in a cool place for about 12 hours. This fermentation process allows the nutrients from the apple skin and aloe vera to infuse into the water.
- Strain the Mixture: After 12 hours, remove the plastic wrap and strain the mixture to remove solid particles, keeping only the liquid fertilizer.
- Stimulate Dormant Shoots: Orchids have dormant shoots that can be stimulated for growth. Remove the film covering the dormant shoots.
- Apply the Fertilizer: Dip a few cotton pads into the liquid fertilizer and wrap them around the dormant shoots. Secure the cotton pads with clips. If there are fallen shoots, you can also apply the fertilizer to them using the cotton pads. Repeat this process about once a week.
- Moisturize the Cotton Pads: If the cotton pads become dry during the week, spray them with some water to keep them moist.
- Change the Cotton Pads: After about a week, change the cotton pads to stimulate further growth.
- Watering: The fertilizer solution can also be used to water the orchid once a week. Water the orchid with this solution regularly to provide additional nourishment.
- Repeat the Process: Repeat this process every 7 days. After about 45 days of consistent application, you should start to see excellent results with your orchid blooming abundantly.
By following these steps and using the homemade fertilizer, you can encourage your orchid to bloom again and maintain blooming throughout the year.
